History: In 2007, The David Lee Reda Foundation, a non-profit, 501(c)(3) public-benefit corporation, was organized
to provide assistance to individuals and families who needed a place to live. Our group found that a lack of adequate housing
was the root cause of many of the health and education problems they saw in their communities.
Originally focused
on helping these families and individuals by providing education and counseling services, our group realized we wanted to
go above and beyond simply providing educational help and guidance. We recently began expanding by acquiring properties in
need of renovation and repair and have grown to over 150 homes throughout the country. We renovate each property and ultimately
lease them to low-income people. We still spend our time educating each of our renters with programs that help these residents
stabilize their lives and thrive in their communities.
Today, the David Lee Reda Foundation is a national organization
that acquires and develops program-enriched housing for a variety of low-income populations.
Our Partners: The David Lee Reda
Foundation works with several dedicated organizations to accomplish its mission of creating stable, vibrant and healthy communities
every day. In each community we work to find local organizations to help our cause and bring us closer to success.
We
are proud to have partnered with the following organizations:
Azteca International
– A Los Angeles based Hispanic organization dedicated to providing low income housing and scholarship assistance to
Hispanic and Native Americans in the greater Southern California area. Azteca has partnered with the David Lee Reda Foundation
to help provide dynamic leadership to a very important cultural part of American society today.
Preferred Equity Group – A California based real estate investment group that specializes
in bank owned and foreclosure properties. Our foundation has formed a special partnership with Preferred Equity Group who
is generous in allowing us access to ideal properties across the United States at below-cost values. With their generosity,
our foundation has the ability to expand far beyond where our imagination could have taken us before.
Giving Tree Services – A Detroit based Real Estate Services Company with its own
“No Family Left behind” Program specializing in educating and placing families in homes in the Detroit area. With
the recent economic downturn, The David Lee Reda Foundation felt our efforts would be best served in areas hit hard and partnered
with Giving Tree Services to use their expertise in the area. Since then, our foundation has acquired almost 150 homes in
the Detroit area and is working closely with Giving Tree to rehabilitate neighborhoods and provide low-income families with
fresh, renovated homes to live in.
